A Tennessee license is required.

If you are marrying in another state you will need to check with your local clerk about requirements in that particular state.

In Tennessee there are no blood tests or waiting periods.

You both must appear and show a social security number and a picture ID.

 

You do not have to be a Tennessee resident nor a US citizen for that matter.

Usually you can complete the application and receive your license in about 30

minutes.

It is valid for 30 days, and in most counties the fee is $93.50.

 

However, $60.00 of the fee may be waived if the couple receives

four hours or more of pre-marital counseling from an authorized counselor.
